I recently received the following email from Kay:

Hi,
I am looking for a pattern of a babies sleeping bag that I knitted many years ago for a friend.   About 40 odd years ago. I think it was in one of the magazines, it was in a rib pattern with I think either 8 or 12 ply wool.  Regards.

I checked all my “yet to be published patterns” and unfortunately I don’t have the pattern Kay is looking for.  If you happen to have a pattern that may meet Kay’s needs, I would be happy to publish it on my website and acknowledge your kind donation, you can contact me  via my contact page.

The book was given to me by my mum to add to the website.  She pointed out to me at the time that Roger Moore is her favourite actor.  Sadly he passed away on 23 May 2017 but he will always be remembered for his good looks and suave sophistication.

My mum knitted this Square Baby’s Shawl  (Sirdar 3007) for my niece who’s baby is due at the end of April 2017.

I showed the shawl to my sister in law (niece’s mum) and she said her mother knitted the same shawl for said niece in 1979. My niece was born in the UK and the family later emigrated to Australia.

My mum bought the pattern here in Australia to knit for my sister born in 1971.

It just goes to show how universal knitting is, the same pattern knitted by generations of women all over the world.
