I recently knitted Jungle Joe from New Idea’s NS 18 Cosies-Toys and Novelties booklet (1960’s). I omitted the tusks that were made using wire and crochet his eyes rather than use buttons. Click here for Joe’s pattern.

If I was to knit him again, I would knit some circular tubes to line his legs before stuffing, this would help him stand better.

Joe was donated to “Share the Dignity” where he ended up in a “Mum & Bub” bag. I hope the tiny tot who received him was pleased.
